    Bowling competition 2010

I remember taking part in a similar with my CC members in December 2008, but at that time I wasn't even into bowling so I merely used the house balls to (anyhow) throw.

Today I took part in my first competition, although it wasn't really much of a serious one. Most bowlers were amateurs, used the houseballs and bowled for fun. But of course there were serious bowlers among the participants. I took part in Category B of the Bedok Reservoir Punggol Division bowling open team championship 2010 for the first time (with my own gear) since picking up the sport half a year back.

Perhaps it was stress from the competition itself, today's performance wasn't as good as I would normally do on any other days. Scores today were lower than my usual averages, attributable to the following reasons.
    1. Backswing wasn't high enough
    2. Ball speed wasn't high enough
    3. Ball revolution rates could be better so that it'll hit the 1-2 pocket with greater power
    4. A couple of times the ball didn't hook much and merely rolled to the pin 4-7 pocket
    5. Left-handed spares could be hit with greater accuracy, a couple of times the spare ball actually hooked and missed the 4 and 7 pins

All in all, my team emerged 5th out of 10 (or was it 11) teams. The top 5 team members earned themselvles a trophy each. Though it's not a great achievement but hopefully it'll serve as a good learning experience and an encouragement for better performance the next time round!

    5th placing
